Police confirms Oke Wali’s release
PORT HARCOURT: Rivers state Police command has confirmed release of the former president, Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, Chief Oke Wali, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN
The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ahmad Muhammad said he was released Thursday night.
It would be recalled that the former NBA president was taken hostage fourteen days ago in his Rumualogu area of Obio Akpor local government area, Rivers state.
He was on his way to see his brother when he was allegedly abducted.
Former president of the NBA, also from Rivers state, Chief O.C.J Okocha who spoke on the release said he heard Chief Wali just walked into his house about 11.30 pm Thursday.
” I am not in the country. But his brother called me last night (Thursday night) that the former NBA president, Wali walked into his compound about 11.30 pm or there about.
I am delighted to hear that the former president of the NBA has been released. We give all the thanks to God. We hope he is in good health. This again has shown the need for us to right our security”, he said.
